Equipping and Mobilising

Our aim is to equip and mobilize the church so that it truly becomes an agent of transformational development in the community in which it is placed. To this end we offer the following training:

Equipping and Mobilising Local Churches

  • Introduction to development and transformation for local churches and church leaders

  • The role of the church with regard to children and orphans

  • Child abuse awareness and prevention

  • Human needs

  • Prioritising needs

  • Planning, visioning, moving out of “stuckness”

Training Course in Christian Social Transformation

The Training Course in Christian Social Transformation equips people to engage in community transformation according to Biblical community development principles.

The course has been running since 2005 and is done twice a year. It consists of a week of training followed by ten weeks in community, and ending with another week-long training session. During the ten weeks, participants implement their learning in their church or workplace and complete an assignment.

The 2010 training year started well, with 20 participants completing the first course. It was great to have so many young people there. The end of the course was celebrated with a slap-up meal at Christina's Restaurant in Sweet Home Farm, where everyone received their graduation certificates. Once again paraticipants were inspired by the realisation of God's heart for social transformation, and of his empowering of us to be his agents of change.

FACILITATORS' TRAINING

We are planning to run a facilitator's training course for anyone who has completed the full course and wishes to run it themselves. As part of the course you will receive a Facilitator's Toolkit containing the manuals and all the material that we use. Tentative dates:
